Adult Education: Linking Language and Learning

Join us for this presentation in The Schissler Library at The Parish School from 9:15-10:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 27.

Learn the relationship between oral and written communication skills.  This talk will go over basic definitions of speech and language, then discuss how deficits in oral language may have later impact on reading, writing and learning.

Presented by Mimi Branham, MA, CCC-SLP, Clinic Director, The Carruth Center and Meredith Krimmel, MS, CCC-SLP, Assistant to Head of School at The Parish School
Mimi has more than 22 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist. She has worked in a variety of settings, including as owner of a private practice, SLP in public education and over the past five years, as clinical supervisor and director of a private therapy clinic.
Meredith is a certified speech-language pathologist and the Director of Special Projects/Assistant to the Head of School at The Parish School. She earned her BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas in 2006, and her MS in Communication Disorders from Texas State University in 2008.
