Due to limited seating\, please register at the link below.\n\nIf you’re in search of simple strategies to help your young one eat a more varied diet\, then this session is for you! During this one-hour adult education session\, Rachel Czar explores the reasons children frequently “get stuck” when it comes to food\, and how to support them in trying new foods.\n\nRachel is a registered and licensed occupational therapist at The Carruth Center\, a pediatric therapy clinic in Houston. She holds both a BS and MS from the University of Texas Health Science Center and is Sensory Integration Praxis Test (SIPT) Certified. Prior to joining The Carruth Center\, Rachel worked as a lead in a DIRFloortime® preschool group in Dallas. She also has experience working with children in outpatient clinics\, as well as in their home and school settings. Rachel is passionate about helping children with autism and sensory processing disorder. She is experienced helping children with feeding issues and has Handwriting Without Tears® training.

DESCRIPTION:Calling all Grandparent Gardeners!\nJoin the Parish Grandparents’ Garden Group. Whether you’re a master gardener or a novice looking to learn\, we’d love to have you! The Parish School’s Grandparents’ Garden Group meets during the school day throughout the year to keep Parish’s many gardens growing. \nIf you are new to our campus\, please have your driver’s license on hand to be checked into our Raptor visitor system. If you are a returning visitor\, we will have your visitor’s badge on hand and ready to go! Once you are cleared to enter\, please head to a picnic table to wait for your grandchild to arrive and/or to receive further instruction. All activities will take place outdoors. \nSchedule\nGardening with Grandchildren:Elementary: 7:50-8:20 a.m. Early Childhood: 11:15-11:45 a.m. \nGrandparents should coordinate with their grandchild’s parent(s) to: \n\nDetermine morning transportation arrangements (for elementary students). If parents are bringing the child to school\, they should continue through the regular carpool line. Our staff will guide the student to their grandparent in the courtyard. If the child is arriving with the grandparent\, please checkin in the front office before meeting in the courtyard.\nAsk the parent to notify your grandchild’s teacher that they will be gardening with you that day.\nDetermine afternoon transportation arrangements (for early childhood students). If the grandchild will be going home with the grandparent\, please have a parent notify their teacher.

DESCRIPTION:Childhood Apraxia of Speech: Top 10 Tips to Empower Parents\nPresented by Nancy Kaufman\, MA\, CCC-SLP \nParents and caregivers will hear from apraxia expert\, Nancy Kaufman\, as she presents strategies and play techniques to increase speech and language in children who struggle to speak. \nParents of children who have apraxia of speech or other significant articulation disorders are invited to hear from apraxia expert\, Nancy Kaufman\, as she presents strategies and techniques to increase speech and language skills in children who struggle to effectively communicate with others. Nancy is the owner and director of the Kaufman Children’s Center for Speech\, Language\, Sensory Motor\, and Social Connections\, Inc. The Kaufman Children’s Center also specializes in ABA programming for children with autism spectrum disorders. \nSince 1979\, Nancy has dedicated herself to establishing the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol\, a treatment approach to help children become effective vocal communicators. Nancy serves on the professional advisory council of Apraxia Kids and has been a consultant with The Parish School and The Carruth Center since 2011. Nancy speaks internationally on the topic of childhood apraxia speech and is recognized as a leading expert in the diagnosis and treatment of this disorder. \nThere are two RSVP options for this event\, in-person or virtual. DESCRIPTION:Understanding How Sensory Processing Impacts Behavior \nWe all experience the world differently\, and imposing our own sensory preferences on our kids can lead to dysregulation and behavior challenges. This talk will help make sense of sensory processing and allow us to understand how our kids are experiencing the world\, and how we can support them. \nGreg is a pediatric occupational therapist and the Founding Director of Power Play Pediatric Therapy and has been committed to providing neurodevelopmentally informed services to children\, as well as workshops to parents and professionals promoting compassionate\, collaborative and brain-based interventions to support children of all abilities. \nThis presentation is an in-person event only. \n

DESCRIPTION:We know that raising a child with special learning needs can be a challenge. By connecting with other parents who are facing the same issues\, many feel better able to navigate a path they never envisioned. Join us at The Village\, a chance for Parish parents to connect and socialize across classrooms and levels. Held in the school library\, this new event has no agenda or program— just a chance to get to know other families in a casual\, relaxed atmosphere. \nIMPORTANT: Due to carpool traffic and logistics\, please follow these steps:\n\nRSVP below\nArrive and park before 11:30 a.m.\nCheck in at the front desk upon arrival\nPlan to leave after carpool at 12:15 p.m. Your Parish student will be brought to you in the library at that time.

DESCRIPTION:The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) of The Parish School provides a platform for relationship building\, support and volunteering. All parents of Parish students are members of PTO. Grandparents and other adult family members are also welcomed to become involved. Meetings are typically held on campus the second Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. \nFor those who cannot attend in person\, you can join virtually. Please click here to register for the virtual option. \nIf you need childcare for your Early Childhood student\, please email advancement@parishchool.org.  \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) of The Parish School provides a platform for relationship building\, support and volunteering. DESCRIPTION:Calling all Grandparent Gardeners!\nJoin the Parish Grandparents’ Garden Group. Whether you’re a master gardener or a novice looking to learn\, we’d love to have you! The Parish School’s Grandparents’ Garden Group meets during the school day throughout the year to keep Parish’s many gardens growing.  \nIf you are new to our campus\, please have your driver’s license on hand to be checked into our Raptor visitor system. If you are a returning visitor\, we will have your visitor’s badge on hand and ready to go! Once you are cleared to enter\, please head to a picnic table to wait for your grandchild to arrive and/or to receive further instruction. All activities will take place outdoors. \nSchedule \nGardening with Grandchildren:Elementary: 7:50-8:20 a.m. Early Childhood: 11:15-11:45 a.m. \nGrandparents should coordinate with their grandchild’s parent(s) to: \n\nDetermine morning transportation arrangements (for elementary students). If parents are bringing the child to school\, they should continue through the regular carpool line. Our staff will guide the student to their grandparent in the courtyard. If the child is arriving with the grandparent\, please checkin in the front office before meeting in the courtyard.\nAsk the parent to notify your grandchild’s teacher that they will be gardening with you that day.\nDetermine afternoon transportation arrangements (for early childhood students). If the grandchild will be going home with the grandparent\, please have a parent notify their teacher.
